200c   200c Supernal 200c  (the Company) today revealed its 200c initial eVTOL vehicle cabin concept 200c at Farnborough International Airshow, providing 200c the first look at how 200c Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) 200c is integrating automotive capabilities to 200c develop the Advanced Air Mobility 200c (AAM) market.

200c

200c Supernal partnered with the Group’s 200c design studios to create the 200c cabin concept as the Company 200c works to certify its eVTOL 200c vehicle for commercial use in 200c the United States starting in 200c 2028 – and in the 200c E.U. and U.K. shortly after. 200c Beyond the vehicle, Supernal is 200c collaborating with external partners and 200c the Group’s more than 50 200c affiliates – which span automobiles, 200c automotive parts, construction, robotics and 200c autonomous driving – to responsibly 200c co-create the expansive AAM value 200c chain.

200c

200c “In order for Advanced Air 200c Mobility to become a wide-spread 200c mode of transportation, every detail 200c – from the passenger experience 200c to regulations and infrastructure – 200c needs to be addressed from 200c the start and work in 200c lockstep with one another,” said 200c Jaiwon Shin, President of Hyundai 200c Motor Group and CEO of 200c Supernal. “Leveraging Hyundai Motor Group’s 200c mobility capabilities, Supernal is investing 200c time and resources upfront to 200c ensure the industry can scale 200c to the masses in the 200c coming decades and reach its 200c exciting potential.”

200c

200c Harnessing Automotive Design
200c Supernal’s five-seat cabin concept provides 200c clues to how the Company 200c is harnessing automotive design processes 200c and materials – while meeting 200c commercial aviation’s highest safety standards 200c – to optimize the AAM 200c passenger experience and price-point. The 200c design embodies biomimicry philosophy – 200c a butterfly in this case 200c – and the Company’s pillars 200c of safety above all, human-centered 200c design and environmental responsibility.

200c

200c “Supernal is partnering with Hyundai 200c Motor Group’s top automotive designers 200c to develop our eVTOL vehicle 200c for manufacturability and wide-spread public 200c acceptance,” Shin added. “We are 200c taking the time to create 200c a safe, light-weight commercial eVTOL 200c that provides our future passengers 200c with the security and comfort 200c they find in their own 200c cars.”

200c

200c The team of engineers and 200c designers utilized the automotive industry’s 200c reductive design approach to create 200c the light-weight interior cabin, which 200c is made of forged carbon 200c fiber. Ergonomically contoured seats offer 200c a cocoon-like environment for passengers. 200c Deployable seat consoles mimic automobile 200c center consoles and provide a 200c charging station and stowage compartment 200c for personal items. Grab handles 200c built into the cabin doors 200c and seatbacks assist with ingress 200c and egress. A combination of 200c lighting – including overhead lights 200c inspired by automobile sunroofs – 200c adjusts with the various stages 200c of flight to emulate a 200c “light therapy” effect. The cabin 200c layout draws on automotive space 200c innovation with a minimized bulkhead, 200c which allows for generous headroom 200c and package functionalities.

200c

200c With sustainability as a priority, 200c the cabin concept incorporates materials 200c such as advanced recyclable carbon 200c fiber reinforced thermoplastic, durable plant-based 200c leather, recycled plastic fabric and 200c responsibly sourced woods. The seat 200c frame also utilizes excess raw 200c material from the airframe manufacturing 200c process.

200c

200c “The Supernal eVTOL vehicle draws 200c on the competence of the 200c Hyundai Motor Group and the 200c skillset of experienced automotive designers, 200c which allowed us to develop 200c a new air mobility concept 200c that is not only safe 200c and rational but also highly 200c emotional,” said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief 200c Creative Officer for the Hyundai 200c Motor Group.

200c

200c Developing Air Mobility Beyond Urban 200c Markets
200c The Group is leveraging its 200c expansive mobility and mobility-enabling capabilities 200c to develop a family of 200c electric air vehicles, as well 200c as the surrounding value chain.

200c

200c Complementing U.S.-based Supernal’s battery-powered eVTOL 200c vehicle designed for intra-city passenger 200c journeys starting in 2028, the 200c Group’s Korea-based division (the Division) 200c focused on Regional Air Mobility 200c is developing a hydrogen-powered mid-sized 200c vehicle for regional – city-to-city 200c – cargo and passenger journeys. 200c The Division plans to launch 200c service of its hydrogen vehicle 200c in the 2030s.

200c

200c Supernal and the Division are 200c partnering with the Group’s manufacturing 200c innovation teams across the globe 200c to create a robust high-rate, 200c high-quality AAM manufacturing process that 200c will produce electric air vehicles 200c at scale – at an 200c increasingly affordable price-point – over 200c the coming decades.

200c

200c “Hyundai Motor Group is working 200c to leverage synergies between automotive’s 200c high-rate manufacturing capabilities and aerospace’s 200c high certification standards to build 200c the foundation for everyday use 200c of passenger and cargo air 200c vehicles,” Shin said.
